Encountering God through His Word

- Choose a short Gospel or Epistle passage – about 10-15 verses.
- Go to a place and prepare yourself to listen to God’s Word.
- Read the passage slowly aloud.
- Pause and notice any word or phrase that stands out to you.
- Sit quietly with that insight or feeling.
- Read the passage again and reflect more deeply.
- Respond to God in prayer if you feel led.
Gospel Contemplation
- Choose a Gospel passage where Jesus interacts with others.
- Quiet yourself and ask God to help you encounter Christ.
- Read the passage twice to become familiar with it.
- Close your eyes and imagine the scene:
- What does Jesus look like?
- What are people saying and feeling?
- What sounds, sights or actions stand out?
- Place yourself within the scene, perhaps as an observer or participant.
- Reflect on the experience and how it helps you know Jesus more deeply.
- End by speaking to Christ personally from your heart.
