Favourite Parables
The Ten Bridesmaids
Matt 25:1-13
Questions to chew on:
- How are we living faithfully now while preparing for Jesus’ return?
- How are we living in hope and humility?
- How are we living as though the first coming mattered?
- How are we living as though today is the day?
18th January 2026 – Favourite Parables 4 – The Good Samaritan
Favourite Parables
The Good Samaritan
Luke 10:29-37
Questions to chew on:
- Why did the Good Samaritan do what he did?
- Why was he able to do this?
- What question was the lawyer really asking Jesus, and how is it different from the question he asked out loud?
- Jesus shows that the law calls for a kind of love we can’t perfectly give. How does that make you feel – discouraged, relieved, confused, or something else?
- What kinds of reasons do we sometimes have for wanting to limit who we’re responsible for loving?
Extra chewy ones:
- What is Jesus showing you about your heart right now, and will you talk to Him about it?
- Are you allowing God to work in you and transform you, or are you trying to make God fit a mould that feels comforatble to you?
