FAQ

How do I join the church?
By attending regularly, you are automatically part of our church fellowship. To get your name published in our church phone book, fill in a permission slip from the information desk and hand it to the church office. To become a church member, attend ‘A Place to Belong’ – a Sunday lunchtime meeting held every three months or so, and you will find out all about membership.

I need prayer for healing – who do I ask?
Ask one of our pastors to pray for you, or ask one of our elders. The elders are listed in the front of our church phone book. Also at the conclusion of our worship services anyone can go to the front of the church and someone from the prayer team will pray with them. You can also phone the church office and ask to be put onto our prayer chain, or arrange to meet with somebody for prayer.
Regent Healing Rooms is available on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month, between 3 and 5.30pm in the church hall. Anyone is welcome to come for prayer at that time. No appointment is needed.

How do I join a ministry team? The ministry team leaders are listed in the back of our church phone directory. If you are not sure which ministry team would benefit most from your input, ask your life group leader or one of the pastors

Can I get something put into the bulletin?
You can ask the office to put something into the bulletin. It is best to leave a message on the church phone, or email your message to the office. You need to do this by Thursday.

Are your facilities available for use by community groups?
We have a fairly full weekly programme which makes it difficult to hire our facilities to groups that meet on a regular basis. However the auditorium, hall or lounges may be available for hire for occasional events by community groups – please contact the church office at 4383948 or email here WCBC Office to find out more.

How can I give my offering, or make one-off donations?
Cash, cheque, eftpos, visa, mastercard, automatic payment and direct debit are currently the methods of donating at Whangarei Central. We are a registered charity, and we recommend you apply for a giving number if you want an annual receipt for tax purposes – email Hilary if you wish to know more about giving numbers. For more details including the account number for online banking, open the attached file.

How do I get a giving receipt at the end of the financial year? Ask the church office for a giving number, and add your giving number every time you give (e.g. write in on the outside of an envelope containing your donation).  You can also put your giving number on an automatic payment form, or on an eftpos slip at our eftpos machine.
